Do you have older B&W to share? Shots you took as a kid, family photos? As long as they work as quality B&W images, we’ll consider them for B&W Blasts from the Past. Please submit straight photography only (no gimmicks or effects).
I took & printed this when I was a teenager, and always loved this photo. The bulbous Chevy, parked at a rebellious angle; the wet-street reflections; the snow; the parking lot that is so huge you cannot even see the store.
(The store was over to the left, in case you’re curious. This photo was taken directly across Route 35 from Food Circus Clown, AKA, The Evil Clown of MIddletown, NJ, about 20 years earlier. Here’s a link to a color photo of the actual store where the photo of the Chevy was taken).
I recently found this 5x7” highly imperfect “vintage” print and thought I’d share it. This Two Guys discount store was important to me: the camera department had an entire aisle of darkroom gear/supplies. I got my first darkroom kit there at the age of 12, and my best friend Wayne and I bought all our film, paper and chemicals there for many years. And, unlike most things this deep in suburbanisimous, Two Guys was within easy walking distance of home.
I miss it.
